Banana Fudgies

1 package (6 ounce) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teasppon salt
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas (about 3)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts

  1. Melt chocolate in top of small double boiler over simmering water. Remove from heat.
  2. sift flour, baking powder and salt onto wax paper.
  3. Beat eggs well in a medium sized bowl. Beat in sugar gradually; stir in chocolate and mashed bananas.
  4. Sift in dry ingredients, blending well. Stir in walnuts and vanilla. Pour in 8 by 8 by 2 inch pan, greased.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until firm on top. Cool in pan. Cut into 2 inch squares.
