Beef Vegetable Soup

1 and 1/2 quarts of water
2 bay leaves
1/3 cup chopped celery leaves
3 sprigs parsley
1 tbsp salt
1 package (1 and 1/4 ounces) dehydrated onion soup (lipton)
1 can stewed seasoned tomatoes
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup celery, sliced
1 cup diced potatoes
1 tbsp uncooked rice
1 quart water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

In a large kettle, put soup bone, 1 and 1/2 quarts water, bay leaves, parsley and 1 tablespoon salt. cover and simmer until the meat is tender, about 2 and 1/2 hours. Remove the bone and meat.

Cut meat in bite size chunks. Add tomotoes, carrots, potatoes, celery, rice, one quart water and one teasppon salt and a half teaspoon pepper. Cover and simmer 25 minutes. (???)
