Fruit Cocktail Dessert

Mix together:

1 cup sugar
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 (#2 can) Fruit Cocktail
1 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg

Put above in butter baking dish (9 inch by 9 inch) or similar or double recipe for a 9 inch by 13 inch pan; sprinke with 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup walnuts (double if recipe doubled). Bake 45 minutes in moderate oven at 325 degrees. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream or cool whip.
