Ham and Potato Chowder

3 med potatoes
1 small onion chopped
1 cup chicken broth
2 c milk
1 tblsp butter
1/2 tsp fresh thyme
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 cups diced cooked ham
1 tbsp fresh basil

In 2 quart saucepan combine potatoes, onion, broth. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Simmer, covered 15 min til potatoes are tender. Mash slightly.
Add milk, butter, thyme, pepper, ham, basil.
Heat thru. Ladle into bowls. Sprinkle with cracked pepper.
Fresh snipped parsley may substitute for basil.
Prep time-20 min. Cook time-20 min. Serves 4.approximate 4 1/2 cups.
