Royal Scotch Shortbread

1 and 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 and 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter (not margarince)

Sift together flour and powdered sugar. Cut into butter with pastry blender. Work into a ball with hands and knead for 10 minutes. Pat dough into 1/4 inch thick rectangle 14 inch by 12 inch. Place on large cookie sheet and cut into diamonds. Can decorate with silver candies...or whatever.
